Aleid Truijens (1955) is a journalist for the Dutch quality newspaper de Volkskrant. In 2004 she wrote the autobiographical novel No Night Without which was published in Germany as Normal war gestern. A Friend's Errant from 2007 was her second novel which she has also read for an audio book. In 2011 she wrote a highly praised biography on writer F.B. Hotz and in 2012 she has published a non-fiction book on education of children and parents called Education!.
Previous jobs include art-editor for the magazine Elsevier, teaching at the School for Journalism and the Leiden University and writing as a literary critic for NRC Handelsblad.
