Jan van Mersbergen (1971) made his debut in 2001 with the novel The Grass Eater, which was nominated for the Debutanten Prize. To the Other Side of the Night was awarded with the BNG New Literature Prize and nominated for the Libris Literature Prize, the AKO Literature Prize and the Golden Book Owl. A movie based on To the Other Side of the Night will be released in the fall of 2014 and the film rights for Tomorrow Pamplona have recently been sold to the London based production company, First Born Films. Van Mersbergen’s books have been published in Germany, UK, France, Turkey, Serbia, Slovenia and Spain.
In 2014 we published The Last Escape which received great reviews and had to be reprinted soon after its publication. It was awarded the F. Bordewijk Prize for best Dutch fiction and has been nominated for the AKO Literature Prize 2014. Last year his latest and lavised novel The Rider was published and nominated for the Dutch Booksellers' Award.
